Want to help out a family in need? Sacred Heart Southern Missions is a Catholic ministry in the Diocese of Jackson, Mississippi. Their mission is to be a witness to the all-inclusive love of God revealed in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to be a voice of compassion for people in need, and to be steadfast in their work for social justice. On this trip, we will aid families with all kinds of work, such as: cooking, laundry, and remodeling homes (constructing cabinets, installing floors, painting, etc.). Get ready for all kinds of hands on service, quality time with families and new friends, and the chance to explore Northern Mississippi.
St. Louis, Missouri – March 21-25, 2017
What does it mean to love radically? Come find out this Spring Break in sunny St. Louis! We will be staying at the Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home and working on a variety of projects throughout the city to explore spiritual, emotional, and physical poverty. From spending time with the elderly, to gardening, to preparing and serving meals, we will be doing it all! Through these experiences, coupled with the teachings and philosophies of St. Vincent DePaul and Blessed Frederic Ozanam, we hope to discover what it means to love radically! We will even be connecting with students at Saint Louis University to learn about serving those in need within one’s own neighborhood. Furthermore, we will have the chance to attend two talks at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Midyear Meeting, and to have lunch with some of the most influential members of the regional society. And last but not least… we will be exploring the love that comes from ice cream! Yes ladies and gentlemen, on our final day in St. Louis, we will be heading to Ted Drewes, which was recently voted to have the NUMBER ONE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD!
